It was a beautiful drive through the Great Smokey Mountains in
the fantastic state of Tennessee.  As I passed those heaven
bound heights, I couldn’t help but wonder just how many faces from
the past that had once lived vibrant, but hard lives in the
Tennessee mountains and hills.  It is the same when I make my
way through the beautiful mountains of Eastern Kentucky, I just
wonder what life was like for them way back then.  I have read
the writings of my favorite authors and and their words just made
me so lonesome, lonesome for a time when people loved each other,
cared about each other, and did what was absolutely necessary to
take care of each other.  It just seems that noone cares about
anyone else this day in time.  But one thing remains the same,
Jesus loves us, ALL of us, just the same.  We have changed and
most is not for the better, but He still loves us and that is a
comfort to me.  At least in the old days they knew they could
not lean on anyone like the could Jesus.  I would love for
that wind of compassion to overtake these barren lands once again
and bring us back to caring for one another even if for a short
time.  What a day in the life of all that would be!!!!
